It has a vertical, flat, and wide handle (strap handle). The profile of the body shows a sharp angle known as a “carination.”
The cup comes from the locality of Fosso Potresimo, in the territory of Amendolara, where a protohistoric settlement probably existed during the Middle Bronze Age (c. 1600–1400 BC). It was found during archaeological survey activities, that is, surface investigations aimed at identifying sites and finds without excavation, relying instead on observation of the landscape and the collection of visible materials. Consequently, the original archaeological context from which it derives is unknown.
