The surface of the fragment preserves a dedication to Hera, a valuable testimony to the cult practiced in the sanctuary dedicated to the goddess at Capo Colonna. Discovered during the excavations carried out by Paolo Orsi in the early 20th century, this object represents one of the earliest epigraphic finds from the area and helped to confirm the identity of the tutelary deity of the sanctuary.
