It features thick walls and a flat, projecting rim; inside there is a movable seat, also made of terracotta, and a small basin designed for collecting water.
This terracotta bathtub allowed partial immersion of the body. Its use provides valuable evidence of hygiene practices and body care in antiquity, offering a tangible glimpse into the domestic and intimate sphere of everyday life. The bathtub comes from Castiglione di Paludi, a fortified settlement dated between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC, located only a few kilometers from Sibari–Thurii–Copiae.
